Anne (Ani) Heckel, Dipl.SpOec., is a certified Ayurvedic Health Practitioner and Yoga Instructor based in Hanmer Springs, New Zealand. She conducts individual Ayurvedic consultations and treatments, educational workshops, private yoga sessions and group yoga classes oriented towards restoring balance and finding contentment. Her clinical practice focuses on women’s health issues, arthritic and pain conditions, digestive system concerns, obesity and resolution of stress-related symptoms as well as Anti-Aging.
Ani received her Ayurveda certification from Ayuskama after an intensive study and work experience program at the Ayurvedic Clinic Ayuskama in Dharamsala, India. Her primary teacher there is Dr. Arun Sharma, with whom she studied Ayurvedic Philosophy, Nutrition, Herbs, Diseases, Panchakarma theory and hands-on therapies.
Ani is currently enrolled at East West School of Planetary Herbology to become a Professional Herbalist. She is also a certified Yoga Instructor and has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2003. She has completed several yoga teacher-training programs; one at Classical Hatha Yoga according to Shivananda and another one at Himalaya Iyengar Yoga Therapy Center.
Through her own experiences she discovered the importance of blending core strength training into Yoga and is fascinated by the power of Pranayama (breath control) and mastering thoughts through Meditation. She has a diploma in Sports & Economics from Germany, various certificates in health and fitness, dry-needling, nutrition and through her own path of suffering a life-long commitment to helping people find their own path to health and joy.
